Understanding the risks
Depending on the scheme, the value of your investment can be affected by the following risks. Details for each scheme are in its SID; see our SID/SAI/KIM page.
- Market risk: prices of securities move with markets, so the NAV of a scheme can fall as well as rise.
- Credit risk: the issuer of a debt instrument may fail to pay interest or principal on time.
- Interest-rate risk: changes in interest rates can affect the value of debt securities.
- Liquidity risk: some securities may be hard to sell quickly or at a fair price.
- Concentration risk: a scheme holding fewer securities or sectors can be more volatile.
- Inflation risk: returns may not keep pace with rising prices.
- Cost risk: exit loads and the expense ratio (TER) reduce what you earn; check them before investing.
- Regulatory and tax risk: changes in law or tax treatment can affect returns.
Regular and Direct Plans
We deal in Regular Plans only and earn a Trailing Commission on client investments; commission is disclosed to clients at the time of investment. Direct Plans, available to investors for every scheme, have a lower expense ratio. See our Disclosure.
